BRING IT ON

We all know that it’s fall that is waiting for us right around the corner. Only until a couple of days ago I was kinda still waiting for summer and whenever someone would bring up the word fall, I was like ‘wtf are you talking about, summer hasn’t even been here yet’. But after seeing this editorial in Cover Denmark (styled by Emelie Johansson? < kind of having a style crush on her work) I think I’m ready. Fall, bring it on!

Excuse the iPhone quality picture, but this was probably the last day that I could wear these amazing Coal n Terry vintage shorts and I didn’t want to wait until next summer. Kind of a short rough version of the dip and dye jeans Dries van Noten did for Spring 2011.

STEP BY STEP, ANTWERP

During my stay in Antwerp, I decided to stop by some of my hotspots in town to feature on my blog in the next couple of weeks. The first one is called Step by Step and is located at Lombardenvest 18. It’s a small boutique kinda shop with brands like T by Alexander Wang, Joseph, Carven, Vanessa Bruno and a huge selection of Isabel Marant. The super friendly staff and their amazing buyer skills always make it hard for me to walk outside without buying anything. I managed to keep my wallet in my bag this time…but I would have probably taken those Isabel Marant boots home with me if only they would still have them in my size.

ps: How cute are those barbie dolls in the display window?

Who would have thought that after my little orange and light pink pants adventure, I would go for another pair of colored jeans? Not me, definitely not me. However, my weakness for zippers turned these wine colored skinny pants into something I could not resist.

I can already imagine tons and tons of outfits that would only work with this particular color, starting with a turtleneck or vintage silk blouse in about the same color and ending with a sweater from Céline that I can’t seem to get out of my system.

On other notes, starting this month I am going to pay some extra attention to my Facebook page. I’m currently only using it for posting new blogposts, but from now on there’s going to be extra photos that are not going to be published on my blog and random fun stuff that I just have to share.

How would you like to have a little online chat with me and ask me anything you like? I want to arrange something like that, but only if I get over 7.500 Facebook followers by the end of September.

ANTWERP TOUR

On my third and last day I had the honor to get an Antwerp tour from the guy that knows most about the city and seem to be also known most, because he kept waiving and kissing (at) someone on every corner of every street – Tanguy Ottomer.

I have to admit I was kinda sceptic about this tour, since I’ve been in Antwerp more than I have fingers to count, but the moment Tanguy started to talk, I knew I was wrong.

He showed me all his favorite shops and while some of them were already on my top-3 as well (Renaissance for example), he definitely helped me discover some new favorites. The two shops that blew my mind were Ra13 – I heard of it and I even bought something from their webshop once, but I never paid them a visit before – and Ann Demeulemeester. Did you know she designed that dress for holy Mary?

Apart from stores, Tanguy also showed us some nice restaurants, the museum where Lady Gaga had her Vogue photoshoot and some area’s that I would have never find on my own.

Thank you Tanguy, and a special thanks to Chris and Ally (who writes for The Skinny) from Forever21 for keeping me company all day and Marie for arranging everything.
