BACKSTAGE AT DEREK LAM
17:17 - 10/09/2012, ALL, beauty, diary

Some shots I took backstage at Derek Lam, while all the cool models – including Hanne Gaby, Bette Franke, Liu Wen and Joan Smalls, were being prepped (and primed) for the show. A sporty collection with another amazing suit to be added to my personal wishlist. Impressive macramé, boxy tops, summer leathers and enlarged embellishments strutted down the runway. You probably all know by now that I am not the most colorful dresser out there, but anyone with common sense would describe the color scheme in this collection as impeccable.

FASHION WEEK ESSENTIALS .1
09:48 - 03/09/2012, ALL, beauty

Apart from bringing notebooks and a pen to write everything you see down and all, there is one thing that is super important during Fashion Week and that is keeping your skin moisturized. Since I do not live in one of the Fashion Week capitals, Fashion Week season to me is also travelling season. Tons of travelling means dry skin (read; airco!) if you do not take extra care of it.

I am taking with me;
Kiehl’s lip balm #1, Mario Badescu A.H.A. & ceramide moisturizer, Origins A Perfect World for eyes, Origins Ginger Souffle whipped body cream.

PAINT IT BLUE
18:07 - 09/08/2012, ALL, beauty

A fresh take on lashes! Deviating from my beauty routine does not happen quite often, but I had to try the cobalt blue mascara thing Stella McCartney forecasted for f/w 2012. I feel like this look will be at its best with a strong, minimalistic dark fall look in a few months -imagine with olive green or burgundy!- to make it look less nineties.
