WELCOME BACK LEATHER JACKET
11:55 - 21/02/2010,

I picked up this T by Alexander Wang tee yesterday, so I had to wear it today. And what better way than mixing it with the Alexander Wang skirt that I own? Anyway, I’m so glad it’s finally getting a little bit warmer here in the Netherlands. First time for me being happy with only 5 degrees celcius. Let the spring begin!

I am wearing a tee from T by Alexander Wang, bodycon skirt from Alexander Wang, cardigan from Acne, boots and a leather jacket from Zara, scarf from Invito, bag from Uterqüe, rings from Dyrberg/Kern and Vivienne Westwood.

ps; A lot of people have been asking me question about my make-up. I’m using a foundation called Studio Sculpt from MAC, compact powder from MAC, blush with a lil’ shimmer from MAC, eyebrow pencil from MAC and any mascara I can find in my room. Big MAC fan as you can see.

T BY ALEXANDER WANG
09:00 - 20/02/2010,

I have been wanting a T by Alexander Wang pocket tee ever since they came out. Since they don’t sell these in a lot of shops in the Netherlands I first went on a hunt for them in New York more than two years ago. Too bad I couldn’t find ANY in my size or in a color I wanted, so the hunt went on. I knew they sold them in a shop called Rika, right across the street from the Acne store in The Nine Streets. Last wednesday I stumbled upon the grey version in my size and I came back today to pick it up. It’s like THE perfect tee. Perfect fit, perfect color, perfect material, perfect shape, I love it. You will soon see me wearing this gorgeous in an outfit, or two.

SONIA RYKIEL POUR H&M
21:21 - 19/02/2010,

Tomorrow the Sonia Rykiel pour H&M collection will hit the shopping shelves. Ever since I saw the jumpsuit on the big advertisements, I was dying to try it on, even though I knew I was waaay too small for it. Today I had the chance at the H&M showroom and this is the result. Some of the items from the collection are a bit too colorful for my style, but there were some pretty good ones hanging in between. I really liked the jumpsuit (if I would only be a bit taller, that one was going home with me) and the shoes are amazing!

ACNE
17:19 - 17/02/2010,

From now on, I will be posting my favourite, mainly Dutch, hotspots. I want to kick it off with our teeny tiny Acne franchise store located in on of The Nine Streets in Amsterdam. It’s not that my closet is stacked with Acne, but I do love the brand a LOT. They mix the best materials with the best shapes to create timeless, but creative items that never really go out of style. I have this one particular big knitted, hooded cardigan that I throw over anything and everything. Acne is one of my favourite brands and it’s great to have the chance to see everything in real life, instead of just from the images on their website. Unfortunately I wasn’t allowed to take any pictures inside, but don’t you just love their display window? Lol.

I LOVE FASHION NEWS FINALE
12:54 - 16/02/2010,

Yesterday was the finale of the I Love Fashion News contest I was in. Last week we had to pull three outfits from the River Island shelves, a daily look, a Michael Jackson look and a going out look. Yesterday we finally got the chance to show them off. The day started early with catwalk coaching from Josh Veldhuizen herself and after that we went straight through hair and make-up. I wanted this Balenciaga bright orange make-up look, but since they didn’t have anything near bright orange, they gave me a strong smokey-eyed look which I really loved!

Right before I went on stage, I got so freakin’ nervous that my legs were shaking like a polaroid picture. For the first round I chose a striped longsleeve, brown hareem trousers, a beige puffed-shoulder trench, some coral red high heels to make the look a bit more colorful and some oversized jewellery to finish it off. Excuse me for the deadserious face in the picture.

For the Michael Jackson look we got a t-shirt on which we could DIY like crazy, I just cut a low V and rolled up the sleeves, because there was already much going on on the vest I was wearing. I combined this with black androgynous trousers, cream brogues and a white hat to add a little Michael Jackson feeling.

For the third look I picked a colorful snakeprint bodycon skirt (which was actually 3 sized too big for me), with a white tanktop tucked in and a strong shouldered blazer thrown over. I chose these amazing bright blue heels and accessoirized with a coral clutch, a big cocktail ring and an amazing necklace.

More pictures coming soon (from make-up to afterparty). Though the outfits didn’t get me to the final three, it was a great day, great experience and I definately had a blast! Congrats to Andy from Stylescrapbook who won the competition!
